Company Section (School Years 7,8,9)

 

The Company Section is for young people aged 11 to 15 years of age.

Those in the Company Section have there own badge work programme that we do most Friday evenings, this enables them to....
 
Take part in fun, balanced and challenging experiences
Be Recognised for effort and achievements
Build trusting relationships both with young people and staff
 
It's all about learning new skills, making there own decisions and having fun

There are three main badges each with four standards to achieve

Community

Recreation

Skills

 
Other badges such as the Conmpass badge, Discovery badge and also The Duke of Edinburgh Award are also
available to the boys should they wish to try and achieve them  
 
Each young person should expect to gain the following during the time they spend at Boys Brigade....

What else do I need to know?

Company Section have a special uniform that they can wear. As everyone wears the same thing they feel as though they belong. However nobody is excluded because they do not have the right clothes.

 
Seniors (School years 9 upwards)

Seniors is for young people aged between 15 and 18.

Seniors take part in the Chalenge Plus programme, which is made up ofprojects and Challenges.
 
Projects
These are taster sessions that act as an introduction to a topic and are then followed by a longer project that is designed and led by the young people. Projects are grouped in three zones
 
Community
Life Skills
Recreation & Leisure
 
Challenges
These are focused on activities that could be completed by teh group or as an individual ranging from sporty activities, reviewing a local take away, helping others or loads of other tasks (some simple and some need a bit more thought
 
The Senior age group can also work towards the Silver and Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award, Presidents badge
 and the Queens Badge (Top Award in the Boys Brigase)have the posability.

 Company/Seniors Uniform

The uniform for this section consists of a blue Boys Brigade shirt with the badge on the left pocket, dark trouses,
Boys' Brigade Tie and belt.
 
 Company & Senior Section meet every Friday from 8.00pm till 9.30pm
(6.50pm -7.50pm for Company Band)
